EPM Supplement with Folic Acid
Item #226-3
2lb. jar/30 day supply
Item #226-7U
5lb. jar/75 day supply
Early aggresive drug therapy is usually the avenue pursued in
treating horses diagnosed with Equine Protozoal Myelitis (EPM). Drug therapy can
eliminate the protozoal parasite that causes EPM and any adverse side effects of
treatment are rare. However, both pyrimethamine and the sulfonamides used to
treat EPM inhibit folic acid metabolism. It is suggested in the September 1996
issue of "Journal of Equine Veterinary science", Volume 16, Number 9
to supplement 40mg orally of folic acid per day to help prevent the development
of side effects. ABC's EPM Supplement supplies Choline and folic acid in
available and balanced forms. Adding ABC's Choline to your horses diet is
suggested following drug therapy. EPM Supplement contains 8000 IU of Vitamin E,
40mg of Folic Acid and 16,509mg of Choline Chloride. EPM Supplement is also
available without Folic Acid.
